Man charged for alleged assault, death threats
Khyle J. Thomas, 36, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature for allegedly hitting and threatening a woman at a residence in the Blackberry Lane area of Sumter County.
He is accused of hitting the woman with a cordless drill, threatening to kill her and her family while holding a handgun, choking her with the belt of his bathrobe to the point where she could not breathe and kicking her in the head once she fell to the floor, according to a release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
Thomas was booked at Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center and is awaiting bond.

24-year-old in custody after alleged assault, kidnapping
Dejahn T. Edwards, 24, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with kidnapping and second-degree domestic violence for allegedly locking a woman in the bathroom of a residence on Raccoon Road on Jan. 2.
A release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office states, Edwards "did unlawfully seize and confine" a woman by taking away her cellphone, preventing her from calling law enforcement and locking her in the bathroom during a domestic dispute.
Edwards is also accused of punching the woman in the face multiple times with a closed fist, choking her and kneeing her in the ribs.
He was denied bond for the domestic violence charge and awaiting bond for the kidnapping charge as of Wednesday morning, according to Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.

Man directed to jail cell for alleged theft from Navigator Circle home
Eric F. Porter, 37, was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with grand larceny, valued at $10,000 or more, for allegedly taking a trailer and other items valued at $14,000 from a residence on Navigator Circle between Sept. 10 and Sept. 11, 2018.
Porter is accused of taking a black 2018 Carry-On enclosed trailer containing miscellaneous tools and hunting gear from the residence, states a release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
A warrant was issued on Dec. 5, 2018.
Porter was booked at Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center and is awaiting bond hearing, as of Wednesday evening.
