ROBERT J. BARKLEY

Robert J. Barkley, 86, widower of Travis L. Nesbitt Barkley, died on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at home.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Rutledge Barkley and Emma Jones Barkley. Mr. Barkley was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are sons, Tommy Wadford (Judy), Tod Wadford, Danny Barkley, James Barkley (Tonya), Robert Barkley Jr. (Melissa) and Emory Barkley (Tasha); one daughter, Teresa Hall; a brother, Jack Barkley; a sister, Dorothy Ingram; and numerous grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. Neal Welch and the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Wells Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at Bible Fellowship Church.
