LYNCHBURG - Funeral services for Robert Parrott will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant AME Church with the Rev. Ernest Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Parrot died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at St. Luke Hospital in Jacksonvile, Fla. He was born Dec. 12, 1940, to the late Joseph and Pearline Wells Parrott. He attended the public schools of Lee County. He later moved to Florida, where he married Ellenor Fortune Parrott.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Gloria Danny, Richard Fortune, Robert Jr., Joseph, Mark and Carolyn Parrott, Eleanor Rich and Barbara Claton; five brothers, Joseph, Eddie, James, John and Alfred Parrott; three sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Ethel Isaac and Naomia Slater; 37 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the home of a sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Thompson Isaac, 145 Jefferson St., Lynchburg.
