RUTH ANN COLEMAN HUDSON

Ruth Ann Coleman Hudson, 82, wife of 61 years to Thomas O. Hudson, died on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at her daughter's home in Sumter.

Born on Nov. 21, 1941, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Byrd T. and Lullie Jayroe Coleman. She graduated from Edmunds High School and retired from Williams Furniture Co. She was a member of Graham Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leila Campbell of Sumter.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind two daughters, Staci Dee of Turbeville and Shea Ortiz-Velez (Johnny) of Sumter; two sisters, Kenny Olsen of Summerton and Norma Lindsay of Charleston; six grandchildren, Brittani Winfield (Joseph) of Lexington, Nicholas Ingle (Monina) of Virginia, Tyler Spring of Concord, North Carolina, Bailey Kruger (Paul) of Sumter, Allison Dee (Matthew) of Albemarle, North Carolina, and Josh Ingle of Sumter; and seven great-grandchildren, Paisley Kruger, Avarie Kruger, Greyson Clemons, Bryce Clemons, Everett Winfield, Jeremiah Winfield and Oliver Ingle.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eddie Harrington officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Shea.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Solid Rock Pentecostal Church, 1300 E. Bobo Newsom Highway, Hartsville, SC 29550 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
