Shernecka Lowanda Commander Wahid, 46, wife of David Wahid, died Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Northeast, Columbia. Born in Sumter on Oct. 2, 1977, she was the daughter of Elouise Commander and the late Sammie Lee Jones.
In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 3310 S. Darlington Highway, Sumter.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the management of Williams Funeral Home, Inc. 821 N. Main St., Sumter.
