Sumter Today: Students build beds for shelter dogs

Posted

Students at Thomas Sumter Academy have been working on a service project to build cots for dogs at the Sumter County animal shelter. The dogs would otherwise sleep on the bare floor that has to be concrete so the kennels can be cleaned, and that can get especially cold in the winter. LMA students are doing this as part of a general skills elective class where they learn practical skills like using tools and how to change a tire.
