Sumter Today: A lottery winner gives back to his alma mater

Solomon Jackson Jr. made a promise more than 40 years ago that he is still fulfilling after buying a $2 lottery ticket years ago. That $2 lottery ticket turned into $260 million in winnings in the Powerball Mega Millions lottery, and he decided to give a percentage of his winnings to higher education. He graduated from Morris College and was honored this week for his $10 million donated he made 10 years ago that has funded scholarships and school improvement and expansion projects.
