A Sumter woman is in custody after deputies received a report of child abuse.
Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of alleged child abuse happening at a home on Lynam Road on Tuesday morning, April 28.
Deputies placed Hannah Marie Lemke, 30, of Sumter, in custody and charged her with two counts of placing a child at risk or causing harm to a child, according to Mark Bordeaux, public information officer for the sheriff’s office.
Lemke was taken to Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center where she awaits a bond hearing.
An investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
