A district spokeswoman distributed the agenda for the board's monthly work session on Friday.
B.W.P. and Associates will be making a presentation to the full board. The board selected the firm over three other search consultants after interviewing all of them in executive session at a special called meeting Sept. 25.
The B.W.P. team consists of four of the firm's associates. The lead consultant is Kevin Castner from Charlottesville, Virginia, and three people with area ties - Percy Mack, a former Richland School District 1 superintendent; Frank Morgan, a former Kershaw County superintendent; and Mary Ann Blaskowitz, who also previously worked for Kershaw County School District.
Interim Superintendent Debbie Hamm is in her second and final year with the district.
Also on the meeting agenda, Hamm will provide a district update of happenings around the district's schools to the board and district Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Miller will provide an update to the June 30, 2018, year-end financial report based on recent accrual activity. She will also provide the monthly financial report for September to the trustees.
Monday's meeting will be the final regularly scheduled meeting for three board members whose terms are ending and are not seeking re-election in November. Those include board vice chairwoman Karen Michalik, Linda Alston and Lucille McQuilla.
The work session will begin at 6 p.m. at the district office, 1345 Wilson Hall Road. Like all board-related meetings, Monday's work session is open to the public. Public participation is not on the agenda, however.
Finance Committee also
The school board's advisory Finance Committee will also meet Monday. That meeting is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. at the district office.
According to its meeting agenda, Miller will provide the same update to the June 30, 2018, year-end financial report based on recent accruals. She will also provide the September financial report to the committee. The public is also welcome to attend the committee meeting.
