Missing Alcolu man found dead in ditch; SCHP investigating

MANNING – An Alcolu man who had been reported missing by family members was found deceased on Wednesday in a ditch off U.S. 301 north of Manning, according to Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock.
“Neil David, 50, was found around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday,” Mock said. “An autopsy will be conducted on Saturday at the Medical University of South Carolina.”
Mock would not comment on David’s injuries.
Mock said that a family member who was out looking for David spotted his Moped, and David was found nearby.
“The South Carolina Highway Patrol is working the accident,” Mock added.
Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and SLED were working the case when it was a missing person’s case, Mock said.
