Walter Richburg, 76, of Sumter, was pronounced dead on scene from injuries he sustained in a mobile home fire, according to Baker.
At about 6:15 a.m., a call of a fire at 237 Williams St. came in. When Sumter departments arrived, Richburg was found inside the residence, Baker said. Mark Bordeaux, public information officer for Sumter County Sheriff's Office, said no foul play is suspected.
Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy will be performed on Tuesday at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
