Sumter coroner releases name of victim in fatal wreck on Broad Street

Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker released the name of the individual who died in a wreck on Wednesday night.

The wreck occurred on July 16 at about 11:14 p.m. on Broad Street and Camden Highway. Libby Weston, 58, of Sumter sustained injuries after her vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to Baker.

Weston was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Next of kin has been notified.

Sumter Police Department and Sumter County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
