Four people, including a woman from Sumter, were charged for throwing contraband over the fence at MacDougall Correctional Institution in Ridgeville.

Destiny Marie Langley, 27, of Sumter, was charged with providing contraband to prisoners and criminal conspiracy, according to South Carolina Department of Corrections.

She was charged along with Justin Daniel Eaddy, 22, of Orangeburg, Antonio Brandon White, 36, of St. Matthews, and Shimeisha Shadi Bell, 32, of Ehrhardt, with the same charge.

According to the arrest warrants, on Thursday, July 23, Langley, Eaddy, White and Bell drove to MacDougall CI to throw four Pringles cans, which contained tobacco, cellphones, cellphone chargers, rolling papers and lighters wrapped in plastic wrap, over the prison fence.

Alongside the evidence at the scene, there were also recorded phone calls that indicated probable cause, SCDC said.

Langley was also in possession of five units of multi-colored tablets, which tested positive for MDMA, according to SCDC. She was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic.

SCDC reminds members of the public that after an arrest, the burden of proof is on the state to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt within a court of law.
