Elise “Lisa” B. Oxendine, 78, wife of Ernest A. “Ernie” Oxendine, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at MUSC in Columbia.

Born June 1, 1945, in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Frank Baker and Eady Mae Watson Baker. She retired from Sumter School District and was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years; three children, Michael T. “Todd” Oxendine (Kerri) of Sumter and Myrtle Beach, Brian K. Oxendine (Chris Huffman) of Columbia and Kristi Oxendine of Sumter; two loving granddaughters, Kamdyn E. Smith and Madison N. Smith, and a grandson, Britton Cain; a sister, Gladys B. Huggins of Rembert; and a brother, Dr. J. Frank Baker of Rembert.

She was preceded in death by brother Leland L. Baker.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Alice Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Ard, Kenny Ard, Wayne McManus, Andy McManus, Hunter Chewning and Fred Chewning.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Huggins, Dale Huggins, Buddy Huggins and Steve Baker.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 40 Planters Drive.
