HARRY LEWIS
Mr. Harry Lewis was born Oct. 29,1958, in Sumter. He was the son of late Mr. Henry (Cookie) Lewis and Mrs. Josephine Lincoln Lewis. Harry departed his earthly home Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Lewis received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed at McLaughin Ford and retired early from SCDOT because of his health.
He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Emma Mack Lewis, and this union was blessed with two children.
He leaves to cherish his memories a son, Harry C. (Tierra) Lewis of Columbia; a daughter, Krystle (Andre) Bradshaw of Sumter; seven siblings, Rosa Lee Smith, Alice Lewis, Dorothy Generette, Ann Lewis and William Lewis, all of Sumter, Maggie Lewis of Hopkin and Margie Lewis of New York; three nieces and one nephew, who were reared in the home with him, Mary Lewis Sanders (Greg) of Maryland, Precious Lewis Johnson (Tony) of Virginia, Nora Lewis Linton (Robert) of North Carolina and Anthony Williams of Rock Hill; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Marion, Charlie Mae (Gregory) Jones and Shirul (Bernard) Cook, all of Sumter, and Lucille Summers of Brooklyn, New York; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Mack and James (Sarah) McElveen, both of Sumter; 10 grandchildren; one aunt, Eliza Time; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a brother, John Lewis, and a sister, Elizabeth Lewis.
Public viewing will be held today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Job's Mortuary Inc.
Mr. Lewis will be placed in the church on Monday at 11 a.m. for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150, with the Rev. Damain Prince officiating and Elder Barrington Pierson, eulogist.
Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.
