Sumter Today: Elementary school students learn about government with a state representative

Rafting Creek Elementary School held an induction for its student council yesterday morning, and they were visited by a special guest that helped get them excited about government and participating in their community. Representative Thomas McElveen visited the school to lead the ceremony and talked with students in an event that also taught the kids how to dress for a formal occasion and even how to take an oath of office.
