JAMES EDWARD COLES SR.

James Edward Coles Sr., 94, widower of Hattie Mae Keels Coles and son of the late William Henry Cole and Delia Grayer Cole, was born on June 25, 1932, in Camilla, Georgia. He departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Coles will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. for viewing until the hour of services.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at High Hills AME Church, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Phillip Washington, pastor, and the Rev. Linda Richbow, officiating and eulogist.

Interment will be held at later date.

Family will be receiving friends at the home, 3795 Wedgefield Road, Sumter, daily from noon to 6 p.m.

Job’s Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
